MICAH COWHER
Micah Cowher is thrilled to bring trash camp to DMO! While performing and writing with his own band, Sir Cadian Rhythm, Micah is also very busy in the musical theatre world having toured on land and sea with many different shows including Rock of Ages, Shrek the Musical, and Off-Broadway's Bayside the Musical to name a few. Micah created trash camp as a way to blend percussion, improv, and dance to create a truly unique style of performance and expression that kids of all ages can use to help build confidence and focus in the audition room. Real drumming techniques are used to allow the student to improve to a tempo set by another instrument and to create music using every part of their body or any object found in the room; very similar to that of the show STOMP! The goal is to create an original piece of music and dance that is 100% original that can then be showcased for parents at the end of the 8-week program. Every kid will walk away with not only improv and listening skills, but real drumming technique that is extremely useful nowadays with shows that are requiring quadruple threats (School of Rock, Once, etc.) We choose to have fun without judgment or grades; just drum sticks, claps, and a listening eager ear! Micah is a private tap and stomp dance teacher located in NYC as well as an actor/musician currently performing Off-Broadway in the New York Times' Critic's Pick, BAYSIDE THE MUSICAL, as AC Slater. Other favorite credits include Drew in ROCK OF AGES (Norwegian Breakaway), SHREK THE MUSICAL (National Tour), SPAMALOT (Arts Center of Coastal Carolina), LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (Weathervane Playhouse), SEUSSICAL (Westchester B'way), FOOTLOOSE (Seven Angels Theatre), GREASE (Castaway Players), THE 8TH FOLD (FringeNYC), and A CHORUS LINE (Theatre by the Sea). Micah is also a songwriter/drummer currently gigging and recording with Sir Cadian Rhythm, Silver Silver, Lady and the Lion, and The Nicholas Wells Band.

MICKI HARDENBERG
Micki Hardenberg (they/them) is an actor, singer, and, of course, music teacher based just outside New York City. They have performed in regional theaters across the country in such shows as Singin’ in the Rain, Beauty and the Beast, and A Chorus Line as well as with the first national tour of the musical Bandstand. This experience as a performer helps inform Micki’s approach as a music teacher. They believe reading music should be taught in a way that is accessible, fun, and – most importantly – useful for what performers are asked to do in rehearsal and performance. While many aspects of show business can be confusing, Micki believes reading music doesn’t have to be one of those things.
